Bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) is a synthetic prostamide analog with ocular hypotensive activity that works by regulating the flow of fluid within the eye to maintain a normal pressure used to treat certain types of glaucoma and other causes of high pressure inside the eye. Lumigan is also used to improve fullness, length, and color of the eyelashes in people with a condition called hypotrichosis, a lack of eyelash growth.
What are side effects of Lumigan?Common side effects of Lumigan include:
- burning/stinging/irritation/ redness/discomfort of the eye,
- feeling as if something is in your eye,
- dry eyes,
- watering eyes,
- temporary unstable vision,
- dizziness.
Long-term use (months to years) of Lumigan may cause brown discoloration of the colored portion of the eye (iris).

Careprost Eye Drops 3 ml contains an ophthalmic medication called bimatoprost is used to treat raised /increased pressure in the eye in patients suffering from open angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Glaucoma is an eye disease in which the optic nerve is damaged. This damaged nerve leads to an increase in eye pressure abnormally. Careprost Eye Drops 3 ml is used alone or in combination with other drugs for treating increased eye pressure.
Careprost Eye Drops 3 ml contains Bimatoprost, which is a prostaglandin analogue. It is primarily used in treating high pressure in the eye. It works by increasing the production of aqueous humour (fluid in the eye) and reducing eye pressure.
Careprost Eye Drops 3 ml is for ophthalmic use only. Before using it, wash your hands thoroughly to avoid any infection. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before using Careprost Eye Drops 3 ml, and you can put them back 15 minutes after using Careprost Eye Drops 3 ml. This medicine may cause certain side effects, such as eye itching and conjunctival hyperemia (inflammation in the eye) in some cases. Most of these side effects of Careprost Eye Drops 3 ml are temporary, do not require medical attention, and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist, contact your doctor.
Careprost Eye Drops 3 ml should be avoided if allergic to it or sulphonamides. Never encourage self-medication or suggest your medicine to someone else. You should not stop taking Careprost Eye Drops 3 ml suddenly as it may increase eye pressure. Do not take Careprost Eye Drops 3 ml if you have/had a severe kidney problem or liver disease. Check with your doctor before starting Careprost Eye Drops 3 ml if you have dry eyes and cornea problems. Also, Careprost Eye Drops 3 ml should not be stopped suddenly as it may lead to severe side effects. Do not take any other eye medication with Careprost Eye Drops 3 ml without consulting your doctor.
